The inaugural IFSEC South Africa Securex 2009 proved to be a huge success when it took place from 30 June to 2 July at Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg, South Africa. The event enticed more than 5,500 security professionals from 48 countries, cementing the show’s place as the definitive security, safety, fire and protection event for the African market.
More than 200 companies from all over the globe took the opportunity to demonstrate their latest products and services at the exhibition. Companies from the Far East, particularly China, Korea and Taiwan as well as Europe, America, Australia and the United Arab Emirates were on hand to showcase their developments. Household names including Hitachi Europe, Elvey, ADI Global, Honeywell, Motorola, Sanyo and The South African Institute of Security were amongst the exhibitors.
In addition to the extensive exhibition, the comprehensive educational programme offered visitors unrivalled expertise on the most important issues in the security market today. The IFSEC Interactive Theatre, sponsored by Norbain, housed numerous seminars over the three days which included informative presentations from industry leading names such as Norbain, HID Global, Axis Communications, IDECO and TOA Electronics.
